THE MIDNIGHT BEANIE (BLACK)

For when you need to acknowledge yourself and not fix yourself <3

I was exhausted by the idea of constantly fixing and bettering myself when life just kept bringing me trauma at my door.

There was always something I needed to fix since childhood. I need to fix the way I think, the way I feel, the way I react to other people's bs, my emotional regulation. Everything needed to be fixed.

But sometimes, you can spend so much time trying to become someone without mental illness that you forget to acknowledge the person who is actually living through it.

The DDC Midnight Beanie came from that.

A reminder that having a mental illness doesn't make you broken, and you don't have to spend every second of your life trying to prove that you're okay.

Sometimes you just have to acknowledge where you are.

And let yourself be there.

THE DETAILS:

  • Fleece lined
  • Clean DDC skull embroidery
  • Black colorway
  • Soft and warm feel
  • One size

A warm fleece lining providing comfort and warmth while the signature DDC skull keeps the message close.

THE MEANING:

Mental illness can make you feel like you're constantly supposed to be working on yourself.

Healing.
Improving.
Fixing.
Getting better.

And while growth matters, I don't think you should have to hate the version of yourself that needs help in order to become a different one.

You can acknowledge that you're struggling without making yourself feel like a problem that needs to be solved.

You can have bad days without turning them into a failure.

You can still be figuring it out.

The skull has always been part of DDC because death is a reality we all have to face. But DONTDIECLOTHING has never been about pretending that reality doesn't exist.

It's about choosing to live anyway.

So this one's for acknowledging the parts of yourself you don't always know what to do with.

The messy parts.
The difficult parts.
The parts you're still learning how to live with.

You don't have to fix yourself to deserve to be here.

DONTDIE.
